Dancing with Class Outreach - All-Stars

Meet the All Stars!

Salsa Congress Performance

Dancing with Class Outreach provides social and multicultural dance education and opportunities for youth, with an emphasis on serving under-resourced communities. A major initiative of Dancing with Class Outreach is the All-Stars dance scholarship and performance team. Chicago Public School students entering grades 5-8 are selected for participation in the All-Star performance team based on talent, merit and need. As schools continue to face budget cuts and closures, innovative programs that provide social support and development are increasingly urgent. Dancing with Class Outreach offers a unique solution by expanding access to an art form and social activity that inherently builds leadership skills, self-confidence and open-mindedness.

Most DwC All-Stars have also been participants in the Dancing with Class – Core Program, which serves 60+ CPS elementary schools each year. As a whole, Dancing with Class has introduced social dance to more than 50,000 Chicago youth since 2006. More than 200 students have gone on to participate as Dancing with Class All-Stars since 2012.

Thanks to the generous support of donors, the Dancing with Class All-Stars achieved the following:
